The International Literacy Association (ILA) Regie Routman Teacher Recognition Grant is a US$2,500 annual grant that honors an outstanding K-8 classroom teacher dedicated to improving and enriching the teaching and learning of purposeful reading and writing across the curriculum. At least 60 percent of the school's students must qualify for free or reduced lunch.
Eligibility:
  • Candidate must be an ILA member
  • At least 60% of the school's students must be eligible for free or reduced lunch
  • Candidate must be a classroom teacher, grades K-8

HISD Teacher Awarded IRA Regie Routman Teacher Recognition Award Grant   (Mar 12, 2014)
A teacher at Hillsboro Intermediate School in the Hillsboro ISD, Tiffany Mercer, is the recipient of the prestigious 2014 International Reading Association (IRA) Regie Routman Teacher Recognition Award, with a $2,500 grant. Eight Chromebooks and two storage units will be purchased with the grant funds, as outlined in Mercer’s grant proposal “Classroom in a Cloud: Chromebooks in the Classroom.”

Tarleton Doctoral Student Receives International Award   (May 15, 2008)
Laurie A. McAdams is the recipient of the International Reading Association (IRA) Regie Routman Teacher Recognition Award. IRA presented this award at their 53rd Annual Convention, May 4-8, 2008 where nearly 20,000 reading educators converged in Atlanta, Georgia.
